Welcome to Reigate
Reigate is a delightful market town located on the eastern side of Surrey, right next to the North Downs Way.
With a rich history dating back to the doomsday book, Reigate offers a combination of historic landmarks, recreational spaces and a thriving independent shopping centre, with good links to London, the M25, Gatwick Airport and rural parts of the South East.
Reigate has a wide range of shops and services, including many independent boutiques such as the Lemon Tree and County Clothes, and popular high street stores. It is also well served by a number of local independent cafes and restaurants, including Beryl and Pegs, Canakin, the Flint House café and Cullenders Parkside.
Reigate is well positioned for commuting to London by train, which takes around 40 minutes. There is also a larger station at Redhill which offers faster trains directly to London Victoria and London Bridge. The M25 is just minutes away, giving access to Heathrow Airport and the wider motorway network, and Gatwick Airport is just eight miles away.
Lottery funded Reigate Priory Park was refurbished in the early part of this century and has helped catapult Reigate into one of the best places to live in the South East, as voted for by the Times in March 2023. Priory Park offers tennis courts, an enclosed children’s play area, a skateboard park and a café. It has many acres of playing fields, a picturesque lake and many woodland walks. Reigate is also well served with numerous sporting facilities, with two tennis clubs, Reigate Hill and Reigate Heath golf clubs, two rugby clubs, a hugely successful cricket club and a bowls and croquet club.
Reigate is also known for its state and private schools, with outstanding schools at both primary and secondary level, including Holmesdale Primary, Reigate Parish, Reigate Priory, Reigate St. Mary’s Prep School, Micklefield, Reigate Secondary School, Dunottar, Reigate Grammar and Reigate College.
